Caelan specialises in research and analysis of user–centred data to provide practical insight for our client’s experience design projects. Caelan is fascinated with human behaviour, leading him to undertake an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Sociology, specialising in qualitative research methods. This led to social and health market research opportunities where he developed fieldwork and analysis skills working on client projects.
Prior to joining Fathom, Caelan has planned and delivered research projects for several government departments across the NI Civil Service. Most notably, Caelan has been frequently leading a project to understand the experience of vulnerable groups, most notably Syrian refugees, resettled in NI through the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS).
Caelan enjoys collaborating with clients and our wider team to find ways to get closer to user needs at each stage of the design process. Caelan is passionate about informing the design of more accessible and inclusive experiences. When Caelan is not planning his next Scandinavian holiday, he plays 6 a–side football or is in the kitchen trying to recreate a dish seen on chef Anthony Bourdain’s show ‘No Reservations’.
